TNT is ACDC's second studio album, released in December of 1975. TNT cemented the sound ACDC is known for, bone crushing bluesy based rock and roll. When they recorded this album they brought guitars armed and loaded with distortion that fire the deadliest power chords known to mankind.

ACDC has been put down by critics as the so called 3 chord band.

For one thing that's a joke, their chord vocabulary ranges far beyond that. The other thing is they are the MASTERS of using a few chords in a riff string and making it kick ass.

Many guitarists use a bunch of effects to add color to their music. Malcolm and Angus have the talent to bring incredible tone, feeling, energy and color to their music without the use of effects.

The music on TNT is actually mixed quite well for coming from such an obscure label. Most of ACDC's best known Bon Scott era tunes are on TNT. TNT has never been released internationally. It was originally released by Albert Productions, and was never reissued by another label. You can get most of the tunes from TNT on the International version of High Voltage.

Guitar effects did show up down the road but ACDC rarely used them and when they did they weren't used to cover a lack of talent.

The cover tune, TNT is one of my all time favorite ACDC songs. On this album in which ACDC laid down it's defining sound TNT describes the sound and attitude of the band in itself, lyrically and musically. I'm a power load, watch me explode they weren't exaggerating one freaking bit.

Live Wire has another power driven riff with killer lyrics and a sweet bluesy lead solo. It also makes my adrenal glands swell like so many ACDC songs do. The raw power and intense lyrics just make me want to tear something huge into tiny pieces and I like that feeling. Wilder than a drunken fight!

High Voltage oddly enough never appeared on on ACDC's debut album / Australia version of High Voltage. It does appear on the International version of High Voltage. It was probably written after the album was recorded. ACDC later did the same thing with If You Want Blood. The song appeared on the next album but not on the album with the same title. The song is a great oldie with a nice groovie yet powerful riff line and Angus compliments the riffs quite well with his perfectly mixed overtones and leads. Vintage ACDC and nothing less.

The Jack,
Can I Sit Next to You Girl and Rock 'N' Roll Singer are also ACDC classics and favorite song of many fans.

It's a Long Way to the Top  (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll) is a excellent tune and another ACDC signature song. Bagpipes played by Bon Scott were used as "filler" as suggested by Angus's and Malcolm's older brother and producer George Young.
