Let there be rock is an excellent piece of work. A great follow up to Dirty Deeds. A little less on the comical and humorous side and more about rockin. The album doesn't totally lack perversions though, Go Down and Whole Lotta Rosie fill the formula's equation in that aspect.

The album starts out with Go Down which has a nice hard driving beat. It sets the mood and bring you into the album with your eyes open.

Dog Eat Dog is another classic ACDC tune. The drumbeat is one of the coolest on the album. The guitar work is still in lower gear but sounds interesting.

Let There Be Rock, the title song kicks in the fast hard driving guitar we all know and love. Angus and Malcolm get right after it. The song is a little long but it rocks and you really don't notice it. In fact I find myself wishing it didn't have to end so soon.

Bad Boy Boogie has a hard driving riff line. The sound is kind of groovy with a nice strip tease section in the middle. Yep this is the new song for Angus to strip in the live shows. Prior to this you always see Angus stripping to Baby Please Don't Go. When Angus does his strip tease he sometimes moons the audience. It's likely around this point is the time when they started thinking about dropping Baby Please don't go from their live show roster.

Problem Child does not appear on the Australia version, instead they chose Crabsody In Blue
. Crabsody is a strange song about none other than the depressing topic of catching the crabs. Very slow and bluesy and I'm sure the lyrics made a big hit with the record label. Maybe they didn't think the rest of the world was quite ready for this tune. This is about the only difference between the International and Australia release outside of the album cover. On the Australia version Overdosed On You is song 5 instead of song 6.

Overdosed On You is saturated with distortion and electricity. It's powerful riff and hard driving beat forces the even the nerdish to play air guitar along with this song.

Hell Aint A Bad Place To Be brings out the devil in me too. What a song, the fuzzy distorted guitars pound out a cool basic riff and the crunchy solo sounds terrific. Bon's vocals tear up the vinyl.

Whole Lotta Rosie is an ACDC classic. Bon Scott said the song was about a real big lady. I also read it really was about a groupie that bounced Bon around like a rag doll and forced him to satisfy her. Bon said she scared him so he did what she wanted. The experience was obviously impressionable enough to write a song about.

Let There Be Rock is a must have for any real ACDC fan. This collection of tunes contains some of ACDC's best work ever and Bon Scott is singing 'em. I've been listening to this album for 26 years and still think it rocks.
