Hello America, It's AC F***ing DC
and we're all in your F***ing face and rockin your asses off.
Yes this is ACDC's American debut album and once it hit the
shelves rock was in the States would soon never be the same.
Although not immediately accepted by it's American audience,
High Voltage was sitting on the record shelf's waiting for the
day. It's day came and this album has long since gone
multi-platinum. Once Back In Black hit the charts America
started consuming High Voltage and every other ACDC album
available like candy.
It's A Long
Way To The Top
(If You Wanna Rock'n'Roll) is a timeless piece. George
Young suggested that Bon play the bagpipes as "filler" because
the song had an empty section. Bon abliged and it went down in
history. I don't know of any other song from any other rock band
that used bagpipes. Not many could pull it off.
Rock And Roll Singer is about Bon telling everybody he could
give a sh*t about what everybody else thinks, he's a rock and
roll singer baby. The guitar work is powerful as are the lyrics
and vocals.
The Jack is another timeless ACDC classic. It sounds like Bon
Scott was a poker player, sure would have been cool to play some
Texas Holdem. Maybe some day.................
Live Wire just rocks. One of the coolest all time rock and roll
songs ever written by anybody.
TNT is one of my favorite ACDC tunes. The lyrics are pure genius
and Bon Scott really makes them sound cool. He knew he was
dynamite. This song explains exactly what ACDC is all about.
Lock up your daughter, lock up your wife, lock up your back
door, run for your life. It just don't get much better than
that.
I remember the first time I heard Can I Sit Next To You Girl. I
really like this song and it's followed by Little Lover. Both
songs compliment each other. I have to admit these are some of
my favorite Bon Scott material, but I do like all of it.
She's Got Balls is another. I know I can't keep saying every
song is one of my favorites but this album is just killer.
Anyway the guitar riff on She's Got Balls is an incredibly
exhilarating and testosterone inducing song.
The album closes with High Voltage which is another barn burner.
There isn't a single bad song on this album. I couldn't think
about recommending against it's purchase, anyway now you
understand what to expect. |
