The guitar work is simplistic but sounds incredibly powerful.
This debut album has become highly sought after by fans and
collectors.
You may notice the songs on this version are different than the
songs on the American released version of High Voltage. The song
list on the Australia release more closely match the title list
on the American release named 74 Jailbreak. Only 2 songs from
the Oz High Voltage made it to the American release of High
voltage; Little Lover and She's got Balls. Notice there isn't
even a song titled High Voltage on the Australian released
version.
In fact most of the titles on the American release of High
Voltage originate from the Australian release, TNT.
2 tracks from the original release of High Voltage never made it
on any American releases; Stick Around and Love Song. To get
those track you have to purchase the original version of High
Voltage. Even if you purchase Bon Fire and 74 Jailbreak you
still won't get those 2 tracks.
Although rude, bombastic and crude, you can pick up on the
groovy boogie rock that has cemented itself as ACDC's staple
sound. More simply put, the lyrics are comical to hilarious and
the music complements them to a T. Shrilling leads and the hard
core riffs that we all have come to love. The song She's Got
Balls has become a classic as rude and raw as it is, and it
started right on High Voltage. Little Lover hasn't probably
become as popular but it's a classic to any ACDC fan. Show
Business is also a
Over all High Voltage in it's original Australian form is a
great album to listen to. If you are a fan you will definitely
appreciate the defining sounds of ACDC's beginnings.
Don't pay more than $30 for this import if you are in the
States. You should be able to get High Voltage Australia
imported as this album is still in print there. Beware of
swindlers, these albums are listed for ridiculous prices online.
