Dirty Deeds Done Cheap contains some of Bon Scott's best work. The Australian version differs from the International release as always. Neither Jailbreak nor Rock In Peace made it to the Dirty Deeds international release. The song arrangement is different also.

Back in the days of vinyl they didn't have as much time per album as they do now. Maybe they would have put all 11 songs on the same CD who knows. You can't really find a thing

wrong with either version though, they both rock and 2 songs sure aren't going to break it.

Rock In Peace is a cool Bon Scott era song that takes never made it's way to an international release. It would have been cool if they let the tune rock in peace on Jailbreak or volts but it never happened. Maybe they still plan to release this one on a future compilation album. On the other hand they could be hoping to sell more copies of the re-mastered Australian version who knows.

Ride on appears on both versions and has long been a favorite ACDC tune of mine. When I'm feeling a little less than happy about things I like to listen to that tune for some reason. Kinds gives me the drive to ride on. Then I might stop by and visit a friend, have a drink and talk about old times. It's like a blues tune that actually chases the blues away.

Squealer and Big Balls are quite comical. Today if ACDC tried anything like this it would be called an under achievement. People have a hard time accepting that ACDC is none other than ACDC and often hold everything they do to Back In Black. The "this song wouldn't fit on Back In Black so it's not worthy" mentality is for so called fans who prefer to listen to what is played on the radio. I don't mind saying many killer tunes never make the radio because they just aren't radio friendly. These kinds of songs prove ACDC could give a squat about what is played on the radio. They make albums the way they like and don't care what critics, record companies and radio station mentality is. If it's fun, do it and to hell with everybody else.

It Aint No Fun Waiting Around To Be A Millionaire and ACDC will be the first band to say it so plainly. This song is track #2 on the Australian release of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.

Bon seems to be expressing his feelings about being a little tired from the road on this album. ACDC's members has always considered themselves a working mans band. There's no doubt that their own sweat and dedication was a major factor in becoming successful. Bon Scott contributed immensely to the bands success and never really got to enjoy any of it, he was almost constantly recording, writing or on the road during his years with ACDC.

The title song has a real hard driving riff and drum beat. Once again not exactly radio friendly but it still managed to make it's way to American in 1981, shortly after Back In Black was released.
