Some songs are better than others
and there are better AC/DC albums but this one still rocks. We
can't compare everything ACDC does to Back In Black. Can you
imagine having everything you do being compared to your best
moment?
If you are a die hard ACDC fan like myself you find it difficult
to find a single piece of work that sucks. You just feel
thankful for each and every song.
Many compare Blow Up Your Video to Flick Of The Switch, I don't
personally see that angle. Somtimes the guitars have that tone
but over all Blow Up Your Video is a tad more restrained. You
can tell Angus is being guided along a little more and the album
seems to be geared to actually get some radio attention. It
actually did get some radio attention. The title track,
Heatseeker hit the radio waves almost immeiately. It was a
little short lived and the album pretty much got swept under the
rug. This is one album you rarely see in anybodies ACDC
collection.
Heatseeker made it's way to MTV which was somewhat anti what the
album was supposed to be against. You know, shoot a video with 3
hot babes with big knockers half hangning out and who cares if
the song is totally lame. ACDC's worst song is better than any
of those big hair glam bands best, hands down.
The best songs on this album are;
That's The
Way I Wanna Rock N Roll, Kissin' Dynamite, Two's Up and
the title track. Honorable mentions go to; Nick Of Time, Ruff
Stuff, Meanstreak and Go Zone. The rest of the songs are good,
these are just my favorites on this album.
Although this album is
rarely mentioned by anyone as a great ACDC release there are
some good tunez here.
I can't find a good reason not to give Blow Up Your Video a good
rating and I can recommend adding it to your ACDC collection. |
