At this point in the bands career
it's not necessary to pump out albums constantly. They get
blamed enough for sounding the same and what not and they have a
huge catalog. It seems like this is going to be a sign of things
to come. Why not take their time to develop some killer higher
quality riffs and runs and solos anyway? They don't have
anything to prove and never really have since Back In Black but
they did their duty and put out many albums since then for their
fans.
The intro song Hard As A Rock is self explanatory and the
description suits it fine. It's letting us know, hey this album
is hard as a bloody freaking rock and it is too.
Cover You In Oil has a cool riff, lyrics, vocals and you know
for certain it has it's essential wicked solo section. She gives
good...................lip service, hmmm I like the sounds of
that. The Furor is a nice hard driving tune that always gets my
adrenaline going. Boogie Man is a sweet crunchy hard rockin
boogie woogie number. Whiskey On The Rocks is a double order
shot of hard rockin fun. Ballbreaker also describes itsself
quite well with ball breaking lyrics and guitar riffs to match.
Once again ACDC comes through with an excellent album that gets
downplayed by the media. It manages to make the charts for a
short stint falls short of what it should have done.
Ballbreaker isn't quite as solis as The Razors edge but it
certainly rocks with all the makings of an ACDC album with sex,
drinking and rocking on the agenda. What else would ACDC write a
song about?Maybe it was
Phil Rudd coming back, I don't know but this album really has a
killer wicked rockin blues motif going on. Brian's voice is
raspy as an old file and he knowingly puts it to damn good use
on this one. ACDC always has a certain unmistakable style but
they have a way of adding new subtle nuances to their music on
each album that the true ACDC fan covets and welcomes as a
refreshing take on their proven ass kicking style. ACDC Rocks
and this album is no exception. |
