After the absolute devastation of losing their established front man, friend and co-songwriter, Bon Scott, ACDC still managed to emerge from the dark fog. ACDC's previous album "Highway To Hell" also produced by Mutt Lang put the band at the gate of extreme success. Back In Black unlocked that gate and sent ACDC to heaven and exploded them to Mars.

ACDC Back In Black

Back In Black is STILL one of the all time best selling albums of any kind.

Back In Black is probably the cleanest tightest sounding ACDC album in terms of music. Lyrically ACDC held to their tradition of using as many sexual innuendo's and references to drinking, rock and roll and getting stoned as possible.

While many critics have said ACDC's Back In Black album is juvenile and about sex, partying and booze but it's position as one of rocks best all time selling albums only proves that must be what fan's want to hear.

Holding steadfast to their roots and with a new singer ACDC created a pure classic in every sense of the word. Back In Black set ACDC up with many devoted fans and continues to create new fans every day. The music is incredibly soulful and rich yet heavy and hard pounding. It's as if Angus is pouring his soul out though his guitar and you can hear the emotions of his recent loss. The album began recording only about a month after Bon Scott past.

Back In Black is a tribute to Bon Scott and the song "Shake A Leg" is obviously THE tribute song.

"idle juvenile on the street on the street
kickin' everything with his feet with his feet
fightin' on the wrong side of the law of the law
spittin' and bitin' and kickin' and fightin' for more
shake a leg shake your head
shake a leg wake the dead
shake a leg get stuck in
shake a leg play to win
shake a leg shake your head
shake a leg wake the dead
shake a leg get stuck in
shake a leg
shake a leg

shake it"

Many people thought the passing of Bon Scott would be the ruin of ACDC but Brian Johnson proved to be the exact choice ACDC needed to make for a new singer. Johnson is a credited co-writer of every song on the Back In Black album. The lyrics are a little more subtle than Bon's yet plenty explicit just the same.
Bon Scott

I'll never forget the look on my aunts face when my nephew was singing the lyrics "She told me to cum but I was already there" after listening to my Back In Black album with me. He didn't have a clue what he was saying was filthy and my aunt let if fly because it could actually have another meaning and she wasn't about to bring that to his attention. Pure genius is what it was.

The intro song, "Hells Bells" beginning gives you this weird spooky kind of eerie feeling when the bell begins to toll and flat out sets the mood for suspense. Some critics and religious figures called it sacrilege claiming ACDC was portraying Brian Johnson to be the reincarnation of Bon Scott. That's an effective intro in my opinion, the boys accomplished exactly what they set out to do with Back In Black, cheers to their accomplishment and success! Remember what the boys were saying while they created Back In Black, We're doing it for Bon. Stick that in your fuse box and you should see why Back In Black is still hotter than the rolling dice.
