Maybe the future plans to release
Volts had something to do with this decision. Maybe Volts was
released later due to the after thought.
In any case 74 Jailbreak is too short and too expensive. Unless
you are a collector I recommend purchasing the Australian
releases of High Voltage, Dirty Deeds and Let There Be Rock. Add
TNT and you have more Internationally unreleased tunes than you
will get by purchasing 74 Jailbreak.
I'm not saying the songs on Jailbreak aren't good stuff, they
are. Great tunes and at the time fairly uncommon to the average
ACDC fan. It just seems like something went wrong here.
If you want to collect every single ACDC then go ahead, but you
already have these songs in your collection. If you don't have
these songs in your collection save some money and get them from
other collections and or Australian only released albums.
74 Jailbreak's title song, Jailbreak is definitely a Bon Scott
era classic especially after the release of Jailbreak 74 so we
can give the effort that much. Complete with crunchy 12 bar
blues riff this is truly a great tune. The Jailbreak video is a
grin too.
Soul Stripper is reminiscent of Rock And Roll Singer but is a
cool tune to have in your ACDC collection no doubt.
Show Business is another nice 12 bar bluesy tunes about the
pitfalls of being a rock and roller.
Baby Please Don't Go is one of ACDC's early cover tune's. It
used to be the song Angus strip teased and mooned his audience
to before Bad Boy Boogie was added to their entourage. It's a
great song but there are so many other non cover tunes that
could have been added to 74 Jailbreak it just confuses logic.
I hate to give a bad review. I do think the album could have
been better planned out with more value added for the consumer.
I truly like the tunes on my 74 Jailbreak album. I have it
because I'm an ACDC fan and collect all their albums. If you
aren't as fanatical as I am you may want to save some money and
pick up some imports.
